A snapshot of a day at
Pouto School:
Hands in the soil, hearts in the community.
Lake planting is just one example of the rich, real-world learning our students enjoy at Pouto School — caring for our local environment while building knowledge that lasts a lifetime.
Statement of Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Tēnā koutou e te whānau,
We are writing to share a Statement of Commitment from the Poutō School Board of Trustees regarding our kura’s ongoing approach to Te Ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
In light of recent national changes, the Board undertook consultation with our staff, students, whānau and wider community. This process was important to ensure our decisions reflect the values, aspirations, and expectations of Poutō.
The outcome of this consultation was unanimous.
The Board has resolved that Poutō School will continue to uphold Te Ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi within the life and curriculum of our school, in ways that are grounded in place, relationships, and the wellbeing of our tamariki.
Thank you for your ongoing support and for standing alongside our kura.
Ngā manaakitanga,
The Board of Trustees
